Assistants bring a variety of experience working with children to F.C.M.S.. They serve as the eyes and ears of the environment.
Mr. Eliot Abrams Classroom Assistant BUP2
Elliot Abrams was born in Washington D.C. and raised in the metropolitan area. He recently earned a degree in psychology from Landmark College in Vermont. Elliot is interested in learning more about the Montessori philosophy before continuing on to earn a degree in education. Elliot has worked with children as a camp counselor at the DCJCC and, from his experiences, has made it a goal to become a teacher. He is very excited to start his educational career with Full Circle Montessori School.
Ms. Salam Aziz BDOWN
Salam Aziz was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. She discovered her passion for working with children/teaching during her high school years, through a Teachers For Tomorrow program. She obtained her associates degree at Northern Virgnina Community College, prior to transferring to George Mason University, where she earned her B.A. in Sociology. Salam is currently a graduate student at GMU, pursuing her master's degree in PK-3 Early Childhood Education for Diverse Learners. She has also spent countless hours over the past six years working with children. Salam has volunteered in public schools, been an assistant teacher, and babysat for many Arlington families. In her free time, she enjoys being adventurous, spending time with her family and friends, and just living life to the fullest.Salam is looking forward to becoming a part of FCMS, and being a part of what she believes to be the most fulfilling career!
Ms. Anila Butt Classroom Assistant The Fred
Anila was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and moved to Virginia, USA in 1996 with her family. She is working toward her Montessori Primary Certification after being inspired by Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy and how it prepares children for their future. She has over 3 years of experience in both non-Montessori and Montessori schools. In her free time, Anila enjoys reading, playing with her two children and cooking. She is extremely excited to work with the wonderful staff of Full Circle Montessori School.
Ms. Naomi Ueki Classroom Assistant The Jordan
Naomi Ueki was born and raised in Ecuador by Japanese parents. She has lived in the Washington, DC area for over 15 years. After working professionally in the architecture field for many years, she decided to pursue a new career in education and focus on Maria Montessori’s teachings, which she truly believes in. She has assisted teaching at a Virginia art school for children for a few years and is now very excited to be part of the FCMS team. Outside of school, Naomi enjoys being outdoors, going biking, learning new cultures, traveling, going to performing arts theaters, and occasionally walking her pet rabbit.
Ms. Nene Pisigan Classroom Assistant/Support Young Children's Community
Nenita Pisigan (Nene to her close friends and colleagues) grew up in the Philippines and moved to the DC area in 1993. She has spent the last 20 years working closely with children from infancy through adolescence. Nene joined Full Circle in 2012 assisting in the Fred Children’s House at our location in Woodbury Park. In addition to her work at Full Circle, Nene has been a nanny for two Arlington families, lovingly caring for six children since they were infants. And if that wasn’t enough to take on, Nene also teaches a class at Trinity Presbyterian Church each Sunday. Nene is a proud wife and mother of two children. She loves cooking and sports, particularly track and field.
Ms. Black Classroom Assistant Young Children's Community
Dominique Black, fomerly known as Ms. Young-Smith, was born and raised in Washington, DC. She began her love of education working with The United States Holocaust Museum’s Bringing the Lessons Home program. While there, she engaged high school students in international issues and helping them grow into confident young adults. After the challenge of working with teenagers, Dominique wanted to explore different age groups. During a year of service in AmeriCorps she taught Saturday school for middle school children and worked with elementary students during the week and after school. Dominique soon realized that working with younger children made her the happiest. She is extremely excited to be working with Full Circle Montessori team. As a former Montessori student herself, she knows the benefits last a lifetime.
